Gary Richard Roberts was born in Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, New York on September 27, 1944 to the late Hucles and Annelle Roberts.

He attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, while working part-time at Met Life Insurance Company in Manhattan.

Gary loved singing so much that he started a group along with his brother Lenny, called the “Domineers.”  He attended First Baptist Church in Brooklyn.  He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and telling jokes.  His famous sayings were, “I am the captain of this ship” and “Can I have a cigarette?”  Chicken was his favorite food.

Gary became ill early on in his life at the age of 17.  Although he suffered multiple struggles and challenges in his life, with the grace of God he weathered the storm.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Leonard Roberts (Sharon), of Dover, DE; two sisters, Leona Alexander of Staten Island, NY, Gail Hamilton of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death his sister, Theresa Roberts of Brooklyn, NY.
