Eleanor Heath-Simms was born on December 27, 1929 native of Smyrna, Delaware and departed this life on September 16, 2017. She was the daughter of the late William & Elizabeth Heath.
Eleanor Heath-Simms attended the Thomas D. Clayton School, Smyrna, DE. She worked at the Side Door Restaurant, Dover, DE for Dusty Rose for many years as a cook. She was member of the St. Paul UAME Church and faithfully held several duties in the church; singing on the choir, cleaning committee, kitchen cook and helper, and served in several other capacities until her health declined. She was known for baking pies and helping neighbors in need. Everyone loved her helping spirit.
Eleanor Heath-Simms was married to Williams Sims in 1947 for 56 years until he died. Within the matrimony union came five biological children and one adopted foster child.
Eleanor Heath-Simms proceeded in death a foster child, Willie Carnell Wilkerson; two Daughters, Gerald Morris and Ruth Jackson, and one grand-daughter Michelle Pedro Morales.
Eleanor Heath-Simms departed us leaving behind children: Edward Simms, Townsend, DE; Linda Jones, Sacramento, CA; Deborah Simms, Clayton, DE; four grand-children and twelve great-grand children, Special family mentioned: Gordy Heath, Betty Coleman, Ethel Gassaway and Robert “Fuzzy” Watson Jr.; Special friends mentioned: Norman Watson, Sandra Dee, Nate Murray, Karen McCollister and a host of additional Family and Friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 11am, Wednesday, September 27, 2017, in Lion of Judah Ministry, Inc., 2364 Pearsons Corner Road, Dover ; where family and friends may gather 1 hour before.
