Edward F. Parker, of Camden,DE,  went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 27, 2017, in his home.   He was 90.

    Ed was born, July 8, 1927, in Camden, N.J. , and had lived in the Philadelphia & New Castle, DE area for many years, before settling in Camden, DE, 15 years ago.

   Ed was a devout Christian, and had been a member at the Christiana United Methodist Church, as well as the Salem United Methodist Church.

   He served proudly in the United States Army, then embarked on a career in the disposal of hazardous waste, as a heavy equipment operator, then as a site estimator for what became, Eldredge, Inc., in West Chester, Pennsylvania. After retiring from there, he had several other hobbies, including opening a wood working shop in his home, which became a favorite thing to do. Ed was also an avid reader.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward F. Parker, II, who passed away in 1987; and his siblings, Robert, Lynn, Joe & Betty.

    Ed is survived by his wife of 35 years, Frances E. Williams Parker; a daughter, Susan M. Mateja & husband, Walter A. Mateja, Jr., of Camden;  his step-children, Elizabeth George, of Newark; Andrew Williams, of Rising Sun, MD; and Fletcher P. Williams, III, of Elkton, MD. His grandchildren, Emily & Ellyanna Mateja; Jason, Nicholas and Derrick George; and Sean Williams; and a great-granddaughter, Carli George. As well as his extended family and friends.

   A Memorial Service will take place at 11am, Friday, August 4, 2017, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may gather 1 hour before. Committal Services, with Military Honors will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial  Cemetery, Bear,DE.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720-1633.   Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
