Daniel Valentin of Dover, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2015.  He was 63 years old.  Daniel was born on July 21, 1951, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to the late Tomas and Ricarda Miranda.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sixta; and brother in law, Freddy.

At the age of five, Daniel moved with his family from Puerto Rico to Manhattan, New York.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, beginning his career as an Aircraft Mechanic.  After 20 years of dedicated service, Daniel retired as a Master Sergeant and began a second career, working on the flight line, and later at the heating plant on Dover Air Force Base.

He met and married his love, Lucy, at the age of 21.  They were blessed with 42 years together, raising three beautiful children, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Daniel had a great sense of humor, and was a big kid at heart.  He enjoyed watching movies, the History Channel, and collecting anything, and everything. He was a hard-worker and could fix whatever was broken.  He was a member of the American Legion, and longtime member of Calvary Assembly of God.  Above all he will be remembered for his loving, caring, and generous nature.

Daniel leaves behind his loving wife, Lucy; three children, Jessenia, Jesmin, Daniel and his wife Rebeca; grandchildren, Jeannie, Kaylani, Robbie, Daniel, Felix, Alahna, Galia, and Daniel; great grandchildren, Vannah, Sylas, and Nicolai; nieces and nephews, Frederick, Christina, Peter, and Tristian; in-laws, Pascual and Lucia; sister in laws, Jessica and Diana; his beloved pets, Roxie, and Ziggy who has gone before him; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 pm, on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Calvary Assembly of God, 1141 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware 19901.  Friends may view from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be private and held at a later date.  Daniel will be laid to rest at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Millsboro.
