Daniel J. Scott, TSgt (Ret), USAF, passed away on May 11, 2016 after a lingering undiagnosed illness at the Silver Lake Nursing Home in Dover, Delaware. 

Divorced fifteen years ago from Ann C. Sullivan, who deceased last year, TSgt Scott was born June 18,1946, to Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Scott in 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. The youngest of five children, he was predeceased by his parents and three siblings: Alberta, William and Samuel.  He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated from the Charles Sumner High School.

He was the younger brother of former Delaware State University professor and community activist and Sumner graduate Bishop Dr. Gregory Scott of Dover, Delaware.  In addition to Dr. Scott, mourning him are his nieces Dara and Maia Scott, their mother, Herma Scott and their children: Troy Jr., William and Darryn Gregory; nephew Gregory and son, Trequan Seth; nephews David, Donald, Darrell and Douglas Shipley; his uncles John Scott and Donald Frey, and his many cousins and friends. 

A ground electronics navigational aids repairman and later a maintenance controller, his tours in the Air Force included Okinawa, Spain, Germany, South Dakota and California. 

A Memorial Service for TSgt Scott will be held at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, June 19 at the Modern Maturity Center, Dover, Delaware. At 9 a.m., Monday, June 20, a motorcade will go to the Veterans cemetery in Bear, Delaware, where TSgt Scott will be interred with full military honors at 11 a.m.
