Cora-Marie Yoder, of Hartly, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 8, 2017, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 72.

   Cora-Marie was born October 9, 1944, in Wilmington, DE to the late, Thomas & Cora(Boyles) Hutchins.

   She had owned a licensed day care for several years, and had cared for over 100 Children over the course of her vocation; then went on to work in the Accounts Receivable department of Playtex for over 18 years before retiring.

   Cora-Marie was also very involved in the community. She volunteered for over 25 years, with Delaware Hospice, where she was placed in charge of their annual Festival of Trees. She also volunteered with the Capitol School District, working with the Campbell Soup labels and Box Tops for Education; and Redners receipts with the Dover High School Band. She volunteered with the American Heart Association for the WKEN Radio-thon, was a member of the Modern Maturity Center Water Babes, and the lunch group of the Class of 1962, Dover High ; and served as the Senior Citizens lunch co-ordinator.

   Cora-Marie was a devout Christian who served the Lord. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, of Marydel, and was the head of the calling chain and the nursery at the church.

   She was a fan of the Capitol School Marching Band, under the direction of the late, Lenny Knight; enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and the Philadelphia Phillies. In her “free” time, she enjoyed reading.

   Her family was her world. Cora-Marie was a devoted wife, mother, mom-mom, sister, aunt, god-mother, nanny, friend, and volunteer.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Thomas & Charles Hutchins; her uncle, Harry Hutchins; and special friends, Ida Mae Leslie and Bonnie Moffa.

    Cora-Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Jacob D. Yoder; her daughter, Donna L. Purcell & companion, David Moore, of Hartly; her son, Larry Dean Yoder & wife, Bonnie, of Hartly;  her sisters, Debra Fendt & Carol Shockley, both of Dover; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Yoder, Scott, Jake, and Taylor Purcell; her niece, Laura Hutchins; nephews, Dakotah Hutchins, Ben Shockley, and Eric Fendt; her godchildren, Eric Fendt & wife, Cheryl; Joseph Brown & wife, Debbie; Christopher Leslie, Jaime Stevens & husband, Carl; and Lisa Falkner & husband, Mark.; special friends, Vern & Sally Moore, Eddie Leslie and Johnny Moffa; and her favorite and special paramedic, Mike Hudson, who never gave up on her.

    The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You, to the Doctors, Nurses, and other employees of Bayhealth Medical Center, and the Marydel & Hartly Fire Companies for their kindness, service and compassion.

    Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 13, 2017, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view 2 hours before. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company, Calvary United Methodist Church, Marydel , or Delaware Hospice for Camp New Hope.
