Charles Wesley Bell, Sr., of Harrington, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 74.
Charles was born November 2, 1942, in Laurel, DE to the late, Archie & Mary (Wynder) Bell. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corp before going on to a career in Education.
Charles taught at the Dover Air Force Base Middle School for 34 years before retiring; and also coached Cross Country, Winter track, and Spring track at Caesar Rodney High School from 1968-2006.
He was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity at Delaware State University, and in his free time enjoyed reading, gardening, and making wine.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his children, C.J. & J.C., fraternal twins who passed at birth ; and two brothers, Patrick & Robert Bell.
Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jacquelyn (Williams) Bell; his children, Charles Bell, Jr., of Arlington, Texas; Africia Heiderhoff, & husband, Clemens, of New York; and Tony Everett & his family, of Galestown, MD; a grandson, Charles Wesley Bell, II; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
A Memorial Service will take place at 12 noon, Friday, October 13, 2017, in the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Dover ; where family and friends may gather from 11:30am to 12 noon. Condolences may be sent via : www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
