Magnolia-Carol Anne (Gearin) Arnott, Magnolia, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015.  Mrs. Arnott was born August 21, 1935 in Somerville, MA, to the late Cornelius P. Gearin and Emily A. (Aspelin) Gearin.

     She was a homemaker and longtime member of the Church of the Holy Cross in Dover.  She enjoyed singing with the Community Singers and Holy Cross Choir, traveling to Europe with her husband, and watching and cheering for her beloved Boston Red Sox. 

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Arnott, Jr., her sister Natalie M. Williams and her brother Cornelius P. Gearin, Jr.

     She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Layton and her husband Glenn, Wyoming, DE; Cheryl Schmidt and her husband Albert, Dover, DE; and her son, Chuck Arnott and his wife Denise, Dover, DE; brother-in-law Richard C. Arnott, of Malden, MA; and nine grandchildren: Angela Layton Dimondi, Ted Layton, Tim Layton, Albert Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Alexander Schmidt, Adam Schmidt, Cari Arnott Fielder, Chet Arnott and ten great-grandchildren.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.  There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday evening and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday morning at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bayhealth Medical Center Foundation, 640 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
