Carl Simpler

February 18, 2015

Carl “Buddy” Simpler, 70, succumbed to cancer surrounded by family on February 18, 2015.

Born April 16, 1944 in Chestertown, MD, he lived in many cities along the east coast eventually settling in Dover, DE.  Carl was a hard worker and was always working with his hands.  Anything he touched he could fix.  Carl was a natural entertainer and expert storyteller.  Never did he touch as many lives as he did through his music.  He was at home in front of an audience, loved to sing, write music, and even made his own guitar.  His love of music didn’t stop at just the guitar, but with any instrument he touched he could bring joy to those around him.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years Linda; sons: Christopher James  “Jimmy”, Michael (Carl, Jr.), and Dwayne; daughters: Samantha “Monica” and Kimberly, and many grandchildren Alyssa, Kylie, Ryan, Brittney, Montana, Jordan and Skylar.  Carl is preceded in death by his parents James A. and Nettie Mae Treat Simpler and his brothers and sister, James, Dudley, Clifton, Carroll and Charlotte.
